“That’s really cool. So, do you plan on working at a clinic or opening up your own practice?” I continued to question, she shook her head.

“I want to work with professional athletes. I want to be the person at the games who rushes out onto the field to help them and who does follow-ups.” She couldn’t have surprised me more. This little 5’7” woman, who weighed all of 120 lb was into professional athletes, let alone sports.

“So, you’re into sports?” I clarified, feeling a little excited.

  “Yep.” She nodded.

“What’s your favorite?” I asked, fully invested.

“Probably rugby,” she told me, “and football.” Her words were like magic to my ears.

“I was the captain of the rugby team when I played here,” I told her. She looked at me surprised and then with a newfound interest.

“Oh yeah?” she said, surprised, her eyes lighting up slightly. I nodded, turned on that this girl was into my sport. She plated our grilled cheese and then cut them in half on a diagonal, which was just how I liked it. We sat at the small table in her bedroom and dug in.

“This is the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had,” I told her scarfing mine down. It was perfectly crispy, the cheese stringy and melted and the bacon adding a perfect saltiness and crunch.

“Thanks,” she said unconvinced. I sensed she had some security issues and tried to put her at ease.

“Seriously,” I told her, putting my hand over hers, “This is amazing, thank you.” She smiled and moved her hand away to reach for her glass of water.

“Thanks,” she said again, a light blush on her cheeks.

“Do you want to watch a movie or something?” I asked her after we finished eating, looking for any excuse to stay longer.

“Sure. But I can’t stay up late, I have class tomorrow,” she said clearing our plates and putting them in her clean, empty sink. Looking around, I noticed everything in her place was clean and spotless.

“No worries, I can crash whenever you’re ready to,” I let slip out. She looked at me a little confused but then flicked on the TV and sat on her bed with her laptop, pulling up Netflix.

“What do you fancy?” she asked, scrolling through the titles.

“Comedy or action,” I told her, she nodded as if expecting this. “But we can watch whatever you want,” I said, meaning every word of it. I’d watch anything if she’d let me stay longer with her, even some musical or a chick flick. She smiled at my honesty and decided on some romantic comedy I’d never heard of. We laughed the entire time, laying in her bed together our bodies lightly touching. This was the first time I’d ever clearly heard her laugh, I’d witnessed it from afar but to hear it from right beside me, it was like music. I loved hearing her laugh and made a mental note to get her to laugh more when we were together. Her guard was always up but I hoped over time she would let it down and let me in.

The movie ended and I put my hands on her waist and kissed the side of her neck. I continued holding her and giving her kisses on her erogenous zones. She moaned, moving even closer to me and rubbed her ass against my cock, making it rock solid. I turned her to face me and kissed her lips, parting them with my tongue. God, she tasted amazing. I felt her hands move to my jeans as she popped them open and pushed her hand inside my boxers, grabbing my erection. I moaned as she jerked me off.

“You’re amazing at that,” I told her through a moan. That was putting it mildly. I was going to go off in her hand at any second if she didn’t stop. “I’m going to come really soon,” I told her moaning. “You need to stop.” Those words brought on confidence and excitement in her eyes and she ignored my warnings and continued to pump my cock up and down with her soft warm hand. I came, my seed shooting out all over her shirt. “Shit, I’m so sorry,” I said, feeling bad for getting her shirt.

“It’s no biggie,” she smiled happily and peeled off her shirt, revealing her sexy rack of tits. Leah walked to her dresser and pulled out a baggy grey shirt and pulled it on.

“I should probably get to bed,” she told me and all I could do was nod, needing a moment after that amazing orgasm, the second one today. She went to the bathroom and returned smelling of mint toothpaste. I went to use the bathroom after her and came back to find her just in her shirt and thong, crawling into bed. It was a sight to see and once again I was rock hard.

“Do you mind if I crash?” I asked, giving her an out. She hesitated, really thinking it over and then shook her head.

“No, it’s okay,” she answered softly. I turned off the lights and joined her in bed, cuddling up to her soft and warm slender body. This was Heaven, I thought falling asleep to the sound of her soft breathing.

MY ALARM WENT OFF AND I hit snooze, something I never did and went back to cuddling into Axel’s warm hold. Then I realized just what I was doing. I jolted up suddenly, getting his arm off me and tiptoed out of bed, turning my alarm off on the way to the bathroom. This was a very dangerous game I was playing. I was truly beginning to like Axel, something that scared the shit out of me. This was supposed to be easy, just sex, completely casual. I didn’t want to have feelings and risk getting my heart broken again, but every time I was with Axel, he did things, little things to melt my frozen heart. I really needed to distance myself but the sex was so incredible, I was addicted. We’d already had more sex in a week than I’d had with Chris in months. Sex with Axel was amazing. I never had to pretend and I actually came every time with no help from myself. That was something I had thought was a myth before. I didn’t want to give up such mind-blowing sex. I had to find a way to keep my heart at bay and still enjoy this sexy man’s magnificent cock. I brushed my teeth, washed my face and changed my clothes for class. I quickly fried up some eggs and bacon with toast and ate mine, setting a plate of food aside for Axel. He woke up just as I was finishing.

“Bacon?” he asked, lifting his head sleepily off my pillow. “Yeah, I made you a plate,” I told him, as he rubbed his eyes and stood up with a stretch. I only realized then that my bed was kind of short for me and he must have been terribly uncomfortable each night. He got up, not bothering to put on any clothes and remained just in his boxers. I tried not to stare at the gorgeous body in front of me. Axel sat down and started eating, moaning audibly in delight.

“Thanks for breakfast.” He smiled sleepily, his eyes still squinting adorably.

“It’s no problem but I have to get to class now,” I told him getting up. He caught my wrist as I turned to go and pulled me back over to him. Axel pressed a single kiss to my lips softly and then let his go of his grasp on me.

“Have a good day,” he said, smiling sweetly.

“You too,” I called over my shoulder, realizing how truly screwed I was.

“Hey girl!” Jenny called to me as she sat beside me in the library.

“Hey,” I smiled back at her. We had become a lot closer since our night out at Duke’s and hung out on all of our breaks together now. Her friend Anne occasionally joined us as well.

“You okay?” she asked, looking me over with a scrutinizing gaze. “You look stressed,” she decided.

“Yeah, a little,” I admitted, my cheeks warming with embarrassment. I’d never been in a situation like this, nor did I ever think I would have been.

“Is it Hottie McSexy?” she asked with a knowing smile. Jenny didn’t know the whole story about Axel or anything about our first encounter. She just knew that he was hot, he drove me home and we fooled around. That was all I had felt comfortable sharing, for the time being.

“Yeah, he came over yesterday to watch a movie and we fooled around a bit,” I downplayed. Her eyes widened and her mouth opened in excitement as she squealed in delight.

“You go girl!” she exclaimed proudly.

“No,” I laughed, shaking my head. “It’s not a good thing,” I told her grimacing.

“Why the hell not? You got Mr. Sex On A Stick warming your bed, I wouldn’t complain,” she said,

  “He’s m
aking me confused,” I explained.

“You’re making me confused,” she laughed at me.

“I think I’m starting to have feelings for him,” I divulged. She looked at me like I was having a mental break. “I don’t want that,” I clarified. “I’m not ready to get back into a serious relationship after the whole Chris and Chelsea thing,” I admitted, saying their names out loud in the same sentence for the first time. Jenny patted me on the arm looking sorry for me.

“Then just have fun, have a rebound,” she suggested positively. “You’re in college. After all it is the time, you deserve to have some fun.”

“But what do I do about the feelings?” I asked her, not knowing how there was any way this could have a good ending.

“Ignore them,” she shrugged. “They say fake it until you make it,” she offered. That didn’t feel like very helpful advice but at least it was off my chest and I felt like I could breathe a little easier now.

“Do you want to go out again this Friday?” she asked hopefully.

“I would love that.” I could really use some fun to distract myself from all of my mixed emotions and internal conflicts.

“Yay! Girls’ night!” she cheered. “I’ll ask Anne if she can make it as well,” she said excitedly.

“Sounds good.” The more, the merrier. I could afford to make some more friends and so far, I had gotten to like Anne. When I got back to my apartment Axel was already gone like I assumed he’d be. But he surprised me once again with a handwritten note left on my table.

I felt my heart pounding fast in my chest, this man was going to be my undoing. If he couldn’t melt my frozen heart and break through all my barriers, then no one could. I couldn’t get over how sweet and thoughtful this man was but more importantly why? Why was he so sweet to me? It made no sense; I did nothing but push him away and use him for sex. I didn’t deserve his kindness. I walked into the kitchen to make myself some dinner and was shocked to see all the dirty dishes from the night before and breakfast were gone. I opened the cabinets and was stunned to find, that Axel had not only washed them all but he’d spent the time figuring out where they all went. He had to stop being so kind and making me feel all these emotions. If Chris had even done this once, I would have been so over the moon. Axel did this when he owed me nothing and didn’t act like he expected or wanted anything for doing it, I was floored. He just continued to surprise me. I texted him a quick thank you for doing the dishes. It was the least I could do; the small gesture really warmed my heart.

We texted on and off at night, until I fell asleep and then, off and on throughout the next day. I didn’t tell him the girls and I had planned on going to Duke’s; that was a surprise I intended to keep to myself. We dressed at Jenny’s apartment, which was also on campus, because mine was a little too crowded for three. We got our pre-drink on, letting the vodka get us all giggly. I decided to wear a cute black fit and flare sundress. It made my boobs look amazing and showed off my subtle curves. It was short, ending just a few inches above the knee but it looked tasteful, not skanky. Just the look I was going for. Jenny also wore a sundress, hers bright pink, she always wore a lot of color whereas my staple was black. Anne, a super cute, petite Asian girl that Jenny had met when she first started college, wore a pair of flowy black pants and a bandeau; she looked cute in her own unique style.

We went to Duke’s early to grab a bite and the line was pretty short. Axel wore a tight form-fitting black shirt that showed off his rippling, rugged muscles and a pair of form-fitting jeans, really emphasizing his cute behind. His cute longish hair was shaved down short, surprising me. He’d lost any of his boyish qualities and looked even sexier in a different way, he was mouth-wateringly sexy. I felt butterflies flutter in my stomach as I gazed upon him, his eyes met mine and widened in surprise before his face broke into a full smile. I couldn’t contain the smirk that formed on my lips from his contagious smiles.

“Hey,” he greeted us, speaking directly to me. “I wasn’t expecting you.” He smiled widely, clearly happy.

“Surprise,” I giggled, something out of character for me, the alcohol was getting to me.

“It is. My night just got a lot better,” he said making me blush. Axel let us all in, not checking our IDs or charging us. “I’ll see you later.” He winked at me, speaking quietly so only I could hear. I simply nodded, my flush still very present.

“What’s the story with the hottie?” Anne asked, turning to me as we spotted an empty table and beelined for it.

“He’s a friend,” I said casually but was unable to hide my blush. She smirked at me.

“A friend huh? I’d like to have him as a friend.” She winked making me choke and Jenny burst into laughter.

“Same here!” Jenny shouted out. I rolled my eyes at the girls and their foolishness. All the while knowing I had it good with a guy like Axel, not only for his strikingly handsome looks but for his thoughtfulness that I’d come to see. We all ordered some food and a pitcher of red sangria to share. We were having a great time, talking, eating and drinking. After our second pitcher, I cut myself off, knowing I was more than tipsy. The waitress came with our bills and I was shocked when she said mine was already paid for it.

“Sorry, I think there’s been a mistake,” I told her confused.

“No, Axel paid for you,” she explained with a vacant expression. I couldn’t hide the surprise from my face.

“That’s some friend you got,” Anne said loudly, laughing with Jenny. Anne always seemed to say whatever was on her mind, something I liked but at the moment was not enjoying very much. I gave her a pointed glare. They both continued laughing unfazed by my glare.

“Thank you,” I told the waitress still leaving her a tip. We went to the dance floor together and were having a good time all dancing together, when I felt a pair of eyes on my back. I turned with a smile, expecting it to be Axel but was shocked to find the eyes burning a hole on my back were Chris’s. My smile instantly vanished and I felt my throat constrict, all the fun I’d been having was gone. We stared at each other for a long moment, before I turned my back to him, needing to break the eye contact and mentally regroup. Axel, Jenny, and even Anne, had been doing an amazing job at distracting me from the pain. But seeing Chris just brought it all rushing to the surface.

“Are you okay?” Jenny asked worriedly, she always seemed to pick up on my emotions. I shook my head. No, I really wasn’t.

“What’s wrong?” Anne asked, both girls moving closer to hear over the loud music.

“Chris is here,” I alerted them, they looked around behind me and then nodded when they spotted him. They all knew we’d recently broken up but they didn’t know the whole story. I hadn’t told anyone about Chelsea and her role in all of this. They just knew he was a cheater. I no longer felt like staying here any longer. Fun time was over, I didn’t want to witness Chris getting into another girl’s pants.

“Do you want to go?” Jenny asked, reading my mind. I nodded my head, I’d ruin their fun if I stayed and I no longer had any desire to be here. I needed to get away from Chris.

“You guys stay,” I told them. “I’ll be fine.”

“Are you sure?” Jenny asked, watching my face to see if I was lying.

“Yeah, have fun,” I told them honestly. “I’ll talk to you girls tomorrow,” I promised.

They nodded and hugged me goodbye. I maneuvered my way through the crowd that had amassed and made my way for the exit. I could see Axel and I instantly felt a little better. He smiled at seeing me and I tried to smile back. I felt a strong hand grab my arm forcefully and jerk me back, surprising me. I turned to see Chris’s icy blue eyes glaring at me angrily. I froze, petrified in shock.

“I didn’t expect to find you here,” he said, his voice filled with rage, his breath stank of liquor.

“Leave me alone Chris,” I told him, trying to pull out of his firm grasp, he held me tight, not letting me move.

“We’re not done,” Chris said, ignor
ing me.

“Let her go,” Axel said angrily, his voice deep, loud and clear, his face twisted in anger. I had never seen anything but a smile on his face, this face was truly scary. I didn’t have a doubt in my mind that he was serious and would pummel Chris’ ass, if Chris gave him any reason to. Chris eyed Axel and then me before he released me.

“This isn’t over Leah,” he spat out, before he turned away and disappeared back into the crowd. I felt sick. Axel pulled me into the corner where it was quieter and rubbed my tense shoulders soothingly.

“Are you okay?” Axel asked, his beautiful green eyes shining with worry and concern.

“I am, thanks to you,” I said, letting out a deep breath that I hadn’t realized I’d been holding. I didn’t know what I would have done if it wasn’t for Axel, I found myself feeling grateful once more for Axel’s thoughtfulness. “I’m going home now,” I told him, still feeling a little rattled. He nodded looking worried.

“I’ll get you a cab,” he told me and I nodded, instead of arguing that I could do it myself, like I usually would have. I felt emotionally exhausted just from seeing Chris. He still really had a hold on me.

“Thank you,” I told him, meaning every word of it. “Thanks for paying my bill, for getting him to leave, for calling me a cab. Thank you for everything Axel, it means a lot to me,” I told him and gave him a hug, something I’d never done before. He held me back, holding me close. It felt very intimate, which was funny considering how many intimate things we had done, yet this somehow felt the most intimate to me.

“Text me when you get home,” he told me once the cab arrived for me, I nodded hopping in.

  Axel

MY NIGHT HAD BEEN GOING great. Leah had showed up looking hotter than hell in that sexy little black number, showing off her amazing rack and sinful legs. I thought it was going to be a great night. I felt like we were taking a step forward after our second sleepover and our frequent texting. But then I saw her face as she was leaving, she looked like she was going to cry, she looked so miserable. That tool Chris Mathers grabbed her and she looked so scared and vulnerable, I nearly killed him. It took every ounce of self-control not to deck him in the face; one punch was all I needed to have him out cold on the floor. If I hadn’t been on the clock, I would have done it too but I couldn’t risk losing my job.
